Island Speed

So I am trying my best to speed things up around me.  Yeah right!
Well, I do try but no matter how hard I try I seem to end up right back at the same pace.  I never understood how relaxed I look some times until hearing it from a few people.  I was actually shocked.  What did they mean I'm moving at island speed!  I always thought that I was at normal pace, you know, the pace of regular moving people in our society.

When I first started getting conscious of the world around me I was pleasantly surprised.

Each morning I would walk from the parking lot to the subway and I finally understood what others were saying about me. Everyone was passing me on the way.  Fat ladies, fat men, not old ladies I raced them and made sure I won.

Seriously, is it even healthy to move so fast all the time?  I like being on time, I like planning and using  my time to precision but to go fast all the time just seem tiring.  I remember recently having a conversation with some co-workers about Japan wanting to loan the U.S.A $4 billion to build a Super train that would take 15 minutes from Baltimore to Washington DC.   I almost broke out in sweat from hearing about it.  My immediate question to my co-workers were, why would anyone want to go that fast.  Of course they all started laughing and were saying stuff like of course this is what is expected from an island speed thinker.  I am curious to know what you think.  With all the sicknesses these days and health related problems that we are facing in our society.  Shouldn't we be slowing down?  Why do we leave a fast pace society to a more relaxing environment?  The rich ones always seem to step away from the fast pace to count their money and also to give themselves time to mellow.

Fast is good but a well balance lifestyle helps. Go hard and go fast but don't forget to slow down, really it helps.
