Yesterday is still the Past

I had never spent any time in a trailer and I had never even really thought about spending time in a trailer. After I did it I think it is one of the coolest things to do... well at least once.

Two nights in a trailer park didn't change me but it gave me some good rest that was needed.

Arriving in the middle of the woods at 11 pm is quite the journey, it has taken me completely out of my normal comfort level but tonight I feel liberated. Jesus Christ, what was I thinking? Me, alone with my wife out in the woods and God knows who else!

Thankfully we are staying on a Christian camping ground and there is no doubt in my mind that someone is looking out for us in these woods. What is it about us? We drove miles away from our home, not knowing exactly where we are going or what our surroundings look like but we want this badly.
I saw a deer earlier on top of a hill looking down at the traffic while we drove by. I thought that was funny, seeing the deer on top of the hill. It was to me, like if they were other deer in the bushes daring him to cross the path of the traffic on to the highway.

Thankfully our GPS stayed on the grid this time, I think it needs updating but I honestly may have to buy something to fix that problem. We arrive now and the question for us is where do we go to find our trailer? The office is closed hours ago, now it is up to us to trust the directions of whichever stranger decides to help us find our trailer tonight. I am half mad with myself for not reaching on time but I am also very happy to have some very alone time out here in the boonies woods with my wife.

We pull up to a campfire, dark and quiet, there are quite a few white folks just lazying around looking quite comfortable. For them, I am sure it must have been uncomfortable for a minute, especially having two black folks just appear out of a Ford fusion asking for a trailer. Sending my wife out to greet these strangers made me uncomfortable but I thought it would ease any fears folks may have had of me, especially with my chain around my neck with the Jesus dangling on the pendant.

The biggest fear for the night is turning out to be a black critter with a white tail... a skunk.

One of the nice people we met turned out to be a worker on the campground and she is helping us find our spot tonight. I didn't realize until it being explained how one skunk can cause so much panic. Truthfully, this skunk tonight is absolutely the wildest raggediest looking one I have ever seen in my life and he is putting fears into these two girls who are helping us find our trailer.

After pulling at two trailer doors and realizing that those trailers belonged to somebody else a miraculous thing happened.

Our wifi kicked in and we were able to check our emails and messages and got the directions to which number trailer was ours.

Would you believe that the skunk was sitting on our trailer step? Of all places on the campground, he chooses ours to mark his spot and I prayed it is not with his urine. We chased that raggedy skunk away and I hope he leaves the camping ground tonight. Well, that was some excitement!

I guessed skunks are prohibited from campgrounds but do they know that?

We thanked the two girls for helping us get around the grounds and now it is time for bed...
